I have found as a mom that there are things your kids do where there are no words to explain. Joshua wrapped up in the front door mat happens to be one of those moments. (My kids do have blankets, I might add. Maybe this is more comfortable?)

Canning season!

So, thanks to my father-in-law's huge garden, we have been benefiting from all the wonderful vegetables and spent many days with my sister-in-laws canning tomatoes, salsa, tomatillo salsa, marinara sauce, you name it! It has been quite the adventure. We have also bottled lots of peaches, pears and will do applesauce in October! I must say, though it is time consuming, nothing is better than fresh peaches or homemade applesauce during wintertime! I should post a picture of all we have bottled, but I put all the bottles away and froze a lot. Anyway, the canning season has begun!

What?

So James and I were out of town for a couple of days over the weekend and when we got back, Joshua looks at me and says, "How do I know you?" Seriously, I almost died. This little guy kills me.

This past week...

Here is a little recap of our past week's doings...

- Hannah and Joseph started school. (Kindergarten didn't start until yesterday). Hannah
LOVED her first day and was super excited to go. Joseph was quite the different story and he is
having a rough transition going all day in first grade.

- We all survived the nasties of the stomach bug that took a little whirlwind through our entire
family (except the baby, thank heavens)

- We had a fun family birthday dinner (minus my brother and his family who live in Boston and
my parents) to celebrate my and my brother's birthday which were in August. My dear
grandma came who is always a joy to have around!! My brother brought over his Wii and we had some fun competition! I swear I have never sweat so much playing a video game, thanks to boxing and Mario's Olympic games!! Such a blast.

- My sweet baby Daniel turned 6 months on the 26th of August!! Time flies!

- Last of all, James was out of town over Labor Day weekend (at the U of U/Michigan game), so we went boating with some of his family and had a great time. I do have to say that my 3 year old is the toughest one of my bunch!!

Now something to look forward to, a little one on one time (including the baby) trip to San Francisco for our 8th wedding anniversary this coming weekend! Yea!
