Happy 3 yrs. Josh and 3 months Daniel!!

We sure had a fun weekend celebrating Joshua's 3rd birthday on memorial day and Daniel was 3 months on the 26th as well. Joshua is such a blessing to us and gives us joy every day!! He was an angel of a baby and keeps us smiling. He is kind of theclass clown of the family and James and I sometimes look at each other and wonder where he comes up with some of the things he does and says. He is easily entertained, loves to play, read books, play trains, legos and puzzles. He is my little buddy and makes my day when he'll come out of his room after I put him to bed and say "But Mom, I need a goodnight love and kiss!" and then he'll hug my neck so tight. It's those kind of moments that outweigh all the hard ones and make me remember why I love being a Mom.

Things I learn...

First thing I learned is to never leave a curious and destructive toddler, especially this curious and destructive toddler, alone, even for a minute, at a table with chocolate cupcakes, frosting and a FULL bottle of sprinkles. Obviously, you can see the result. (I don't even want to mention what the floor looked like underneath!) Let's just say I'm sure I would've done the same thing when I was young. I mean, who wouldn't want to self-indulge in a cupcake? Who can blame him!

Second thing I learned is that when Joshua wants chocolate, he will find it any way he can. That's my boy!!

OK, we are pretty good at doing family night every Monday, but it certainly doesn't look as put together as this the picture of this family does, as Hannah constantly lifts her nightgown over her head while Joshua is upside down on the chair in a headstand. But, we do it always with a little lesson and the kids always enjoy participating in some way.
Tonight we had a little lesson on prophets and Joseph read a scripture about Samuel the Lamanite. We quizzed the kids after about who Samuel was and why the arrows didn't hit him, etc. James showed a picture of President Monson and was trying to teach Josh about who President Monson is. James then asked if we throw arrows at our prophet (why he even asked that question is beyond me)and Josh said, "No, we just throw snowballs at him". James goes on to talk about how our prophets have asked us to prepare food storage and we need to obey what the prophets say. Josh pipes in at this point again and says that flies eat our food and Joseph comments by saying that the spiders should make sure to catch extra flies in their web. Looks like we really got through to our kids tonight! (NOT!!)

This picture may be a little inappropriate, but honestly, nothing's better than the glimpse of a bare tushie from an unsuspecting toddler who, apparently, is looking at a pile of ants. I just couldn't help myself. As to what happened to his diaper and how it came off, that is still a mystery.

Two months and loving it!

Daniel was two months old on April 26th and is such a joy!! Honestly, there is nothing better than holding a sleeping baby in your arms. I try to take advantage of it as much as possible because they grow too fast at this age. There is also nothing better than when a baby smiles. I can't think of anyone who doesn't smile back at a baby when they smile. So rewarding!!
