Quote of the day...

Joseph: "Hannah, I'm really sick."
Hannah: "What's the matter?"
Joseph: "I'm dehydrated. You better stay away from me so you don't get dehydrated, too."

New Twilight Trailer

Summit came out with another Twilight trailer. I think it is a better one than the first trailer they did and I am getting excited to see it in December. I just hope they kept true to the book. I just can't wait for Breaking Dawn to come out!!!
Here is a link to the new trailer:

Cookout and getting dirty!!

Nothing spells summer better than having a cookout up the canyon. It is so nice living so close to East Millcreek Canyon to enjoy the cooler temperatures and have fun cooking hot dogs and s'mores!

A new thing that Joseph, Josh and the cousins found, was to slide down a huge dirt hill by our cookout site. All I can say is, DIRT!!! They had so much fun sliding down and getting as dirty as possible. Just notice that Hannah is not in any of the pictures. She is the clean one who HATES being dirty and will change her clothes if she spills water on them. So, she was just as happy sitting and watching and enjoying her s'more.

So, we found a snake up at our cabin last week when we were there for a little family reunion. We used to catch snakes all the time up there when I was a kid and we loved it! This was the first time our kids found one and they were all pretty darn brave! Joseph loved it and wanted to keep holding it.

Joseph is letting the snake crawl all over him!

Daniel could really care less about a snake.

This is by far my favorite picture. Josh and the snake are face to face in an eye to eye stare down. I love it! He wasn't too fond of the snake and other than touching it once, he kept his distance.

My uncle giving the snake a kiss! Nasty!

Fun on the Fourth

First off, we have a family tradition on the Jarman side to make a float and participate in the Holladay Lion's Club 4th of July parade in East Millcreek. This years theme for the parade was "Celebrating the Legacy". So, we did "Celebrating the Legacy of the Red and Blue Rivalry". My sister-in-law made little cheerleading skirts for all the girls to wear. Each family wore the colors to which school they supported. The family is pretty much half and half as to which school they cheer for. It was a lot of fun and not to miserable of heat to walk in. James had to work at Luna's until the afternoon and then was able to make it to the rest of the festivities later in the day.

Daniel loves being a UTE!
This is Joseph with his uncle Peter and Peter's HUGE Newfoundland dog who wore a Utah shirt and walked with the float.
This is my sister-in-law, Sarah, who is a die hard BYU fan and had such a great outfit!

We have a huge breakfast over at James' parents house following the parade which is always a great treat.
Later in the afternoon, everyone went over to James' brother's house who has a huge hill in his backyard and puts out an enormous plastic billboard sign and puts two hoses at the top and all the kids slide down it. They all had a blast!! There were about 24 cousins there. We had a barbeque that night at their house and watched some fireworks. Their neighbor has a real snowcone machine and made all the kids snowcones. Each of my kids came away eating two!! I was too tired to stay up to watch the real firework show, so James took Hannah and Joseph to see the Sugarhouse fireworks.

Daniel turned 4 months on the 26th of June. Time goes so fast! I have all my babies pictures taken at 4 months and I just got Daniel's done yesterday. Here are all my kids at 4 months! I am a little biased, but I must say they are all pretty darn cute. (Joseph, Hannah, Josh, then Daniel)

My mom emailed a quote yesterday from President Monson which says,
"If you do something that turns out not quite as you had planned, you can almost always put it right, get over it, learn from it. But once you've missed out on something, it's gone....Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It's so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they're gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of 'what if' and 'if only.' Said author Harriet Beecher Stowe, 'The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.'
"Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family. One day, each of us will run out of tomorrows. Let us not put off what is most important."
I loved this! Helps me remember to cherish every day with my kids because it goes by so quickly, seeing now that Joseph is already 6 1/2 years old! My dad taught me best by saying, "the task can always wait". I need to remember that every day is a memory. Pretty soon they will all be grown up and I would hate to look back on my kids childhood and wish I would have played more with them, read more with them, etc. This time of their life is so precious and I want to make sure I take advantage of it! (Now I just need to remember this on the days that they are driving me crazy and the house is a mess!!!)
